UX Designer, Visual Designer, & Thinkerer · see Technical portfolio

I'm a Visual Designer and Web Developer from small town North Carolina. Professionally and for fun I design awesome user experiences through research. I'm a proud Arduino tinkerer, designer, and photographer by night.

My first introduction to programming derived from Codecademy. I really enjoyed the online flexibility it provided, but I felt it lacked in detail. In my three months with Codecademy, I completed tracks for HTML, CSS, and beginners JavaScript.

After Codecademy, I then joined Treehouse. I found more success by combining online teaching with actual books and reading. It was here that I honed my frontend skills, and began building my backend skills. After another set of months, I felt pretty confident in my skills, and at this point I had already produced a few good-looking projects, so I began freelancing.

Freelancing made me a better developer, mostly because of how often technology changed. I then discovered online publications such as Geekwire and Mashable. Constantly reading and studying the latest movements in Web Development, Programming, and Employment trends. This taught me a lot. I was able to communicate effectively to prospective clients, and employers with confidence, but most importantly, with knowledge. It was this that led to my curiosity into UX.

Visual Designer & Project Manager

Coinme’s business is centered around Bitcoin ATM machines and Crypto Advisory Services. During the site redesign I established style guides, brand usage guidelines, voice and tone examples, and high-fi wireframes with a clickable prototype. The goal was to help convey the brand in a compelling and persuasive way to help grow the business. The redesigned site will help increase page visits, increase inquiries, and convert more visitors into leads.
